On February 23, 2020, the Center for Water Resources Conservation and Development (WARECOD) in cooperation with the People's Committee of Krong Na commune organized a training session on water quality monitoring for community monitoring groups at the community house in Krong Na.

This training was led by lecturer Nguyen Van Tuyen - Former Head of Water Resources Division - Department of Natural Resources & Environment of Dak Lak province on training for 5 monitoring groups of villages including Ea rong Don, Tri A, Jang Lanh and Thong Nhat. Two training sessions were successfully conducted with the participation of nearly 20 members of the Village Monitoring Groups. In the training course, participants have been guided by the instructor in detail on the process and practice repeatedly about how to take water samples, mix samples, and and reagent-using techniques so that they can initially determine the quality of local saltwater sources. Instructor also instructed participants how to write monthly reports and test plans in the villages. At the end of the training, all participants were able to learn how to quickly check the water quality so that it could identify areas where the water is polluted or can be used for drinking and living.

It can be said that this was a great success of the training course so that community monitoring groups on water environment could replicate the model to all the villages in the commune. Thereby raising awareness of water protection and participate in water quality control and environmental sanitation in order to clean water sources are used to protect family health as well as report to the authorities and mass organizations on the quality of water sources.
