Jang Lanh people follow environmental cleanup activities

People in Jang Lanh village, Krong Na commune, Buon Don district, Dak Lak province perform cleaning in the beginning of the new year 2019.

In 2017, WARECOD implemented 2 projects in Krong Na commune, Buon Don district, Dak Lak province. WARECOD established a group of local researchers at Jang Lanh village to develop and systematize the local knowledge of ecosystems on the Srepok river section running through the village. Research activities focus on changes in the environment and society since the system of hydroelectric plants in the river makes the flow change and reduce the flow of water flowing through the area.



In the process of conducting local knowledge research, awareness and capacity of the community group in Jang Lanh village has been raised, they want to have more knowledge and resources to develop and implement action plans. protect water resources and the environment. A group of women was also established and together with the research team participated in training on water resources and environmental sanitation, thereby planning to implement smart agricultural community initiatives to adapt to Climate change (CSA), simple water treatment methods and organizing communication activities in the community.



After the project to improve community capacity implemented by WARECOD in 2017, and one of the activities is to establish a group of women to participate in environmental protection action training, sanitation and protection Water Resources. Although the project has ended, the local people continue to carry out the work to ensure environmental hygiene in their area.
