Photo exhibition "Water - Energy - Life"

The Center for Water Resources Conservation and Development (WARECOD) is currently having the photo exhibition "Water - Energy - Life" at 29 Hang Bai Exhibition House, with about 80 shots - the recording results by the photographer Pham Hoai Thanh performing in Kon Tum province which is one of the provinces with the highest development destiny of hydropower in Vietnam.


The role
of hydropower in national energy security is extremely important. Providing more than 43% of electricity, hydropower projects significantly contributed to the country's development process. Decision-making process of hydropower development is a complex process from planning, environmental impact assessment, construction, operation and closure. Each step in the process requires the involvement of many sectors and highly professional individuals. Each decision should be carefully considered to (1) ensure the efficient exploitation, (2) ensure good quality of work, (3) minimize the risk and impact on the environmental and human impacts, (4) support the livelihood recovery for affected communities.


 

With the cooperation of photographer Pham Hoai Thanh, the Center for Water Resources Conservation and Development (WARECOD) is currently having the photo exhibition "Water-Energy-Life" at 29 Hang Bai Exhibition House, with about 80 shots – the recording results by the photographer Pham Hoai Thanh performing in Kon Tum province which is one of the provinces with the highest development destiny of hydropower in Vietnam. The exhibition is expected to have a positive contribution to the efficient development of hydropower and create sustainability for the harmonious development of the country as well as minimizing unexpected effects.




 

Even on the opening day, the exhibition has attracted the interest of many departments, experts in the field of energy, agriculture, media and wider audience... In particular, the exhibition received ideas shared by Dr. Duong Thanh An, Director of Legal Affairs, Department of Environment, Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment; Dr Dao Trong Tu,director of CEWAREC and experts who dedicated to the conservation of water resources and sustainable development in the past 10 years.



 

The exhibition will continue until the end of 17:00 on 25th Nov 2013, and the talk show “Listen from the gaps”,  which is also located in this subject, is taking place at 15:00 on 24th  Nov 2013.
